- Step 1: In a medium bowl, start by adding 1 cup of sour cream. This will serve as the creamy base of your sauce. Next, add 2 tablespoons of prepared horseradish.
- Step 2: Squeeze in 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice and add the zest of 1 lemon (about 1 teaspoon).
- Step 3: Add 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard and sprinkle in salt and pepper to taste.
- Step 4: Using a whisk or spoon, mix all the ingredients together until they are well combined. You want a smooth and creamy consistency with no lumps.
- Step 5: Once mixed, cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the sauce to an air-tight container. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Notes
Always taste your sauce before serving. If you feel it needs more acidity, add a bit more lemon juice. The sauce will taste even better the longer it sits, so consider making it a day ahead of your event!
