  • 6 whole fresh jalapeños
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Step 2: Arrange the fresh jalapeños on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven for 15-20 minutes until the skins are charred.
  3. Step 3: Once the jalapeños are out of the oven, let them cool slightly, then remove the stems and seeds, and chop them finely.
  4. Step 4: In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  5. Step 5: Fold in the chopped jalapeños into the creamy mixture.
  6. Step 6: Pour the mixture into a baking dish and smooth the top.
  7. Step 7: Bake for 20-25 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  8. Step 8: Let the dip cool slightly before serving, and garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.

Notes

For a smokier flavor, consider using smoked jalapeños, or add liquid smoke to the creamy mixture.
