- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 2: Cut the top off the head of garlic to expose the individual cloves. Wrap the entire head in aluminum foil.
- Step 3: Roast the garlic in the oven for about 30-35 minutes until soft and golden brown.
- Step 4: Cool the garlic slightly, then squeeze the soft cloves into a mixing bowl.
- Step 5: Add sour cream, prepared horseradish, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Step 6: Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Step 7: Transfer the sauce to a refrigerator-safe container and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Step 8: Garnish with chopped chives or parsley if desired and serve.
Notes
This sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Adjust the level of horseradish to suit your taste.
