Method
- Step 1: Rinse the cranberries under cold water, removing any stems or damaged ones.
- Step 2: In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed cranberries with 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Step 3: Once boiling, reduce heat and let simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Step 4: Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Step 5: Strain the mixture into a pitcher using a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
- Step 6: Stir in honey or maple syrup (if using) and lemon juice, adjusting sweetness to taste.
- Step 7: Chill the juice in the refrigerator or serve immediately over ice.
Notes
Store in the refrigerator for up to one week, or freeze in ice cube trays for later use.
