Method
- Step 1: Prepare your pasta according to the package instructions. Make sure to salt the water generously to flavor the pasta. Drain and set aside, reserving a bit of pasta water for later.
- Step 2: In a large skillet, melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat. This will serve as the base for the sauce, adding richness and flavor.
- Step 3: Add 4 cloves of minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until it becomes fragrant.
- Step 4: Stir in the zest of 1 lemon and 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Step 5: Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, and if you like a bit of heat, sprinkle in 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
- Step 6: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Ensure it's well combined and melts into the mixture.
- Step 7: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss it in the sauce until evenly coated. If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
- Step 8: Plate the pasta in serving bowls and garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color. Serve immediately and enjoy!
