Ingredients

For the Salad
  • 1 bag Doritos Nacho Cheese flavor
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend
  • 1 cup black beans rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup salsa
Optional garnishes
  • sliced jalapeƱos for garnish
  • avocado for garnish
  • cilantro for garnish

Equipment

  • Skillet for cooking the ground beef
  • Large mixing bowl for combining ingredients
  • Measuring cups for accurate ingredient portions
  • Cutting board and knife for chopping vegetables
  • Serving bowl or individual bowls for serving
  • Spoon for mixing

Method

  1. Step 1: In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Use a spatula to break it apart as it cooks. Cook until the meat is browned, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Step 2: Once the beef is browned, stir in the taco seasoning according to package instructions. Allow it to simmer for a few minutes.
  3. Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, cherry tomatoes, shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, black beans, and diced red onion. Stir gently to mix.
  4. Step 4: Crush the Doritos slightly and fold them into the salad mixture gently to maintain some crunch.
  5. Step 5: In a separate bowl, mix sour cream and salsa until well combined. This will serve as the dressing.
  6. Step 6: Serve the salad in bowls and drizzle the sour cream and salsa mixture on top. Add optional garnishes as desired.

Notes

Store the salad components separately to maintain freshness. Keep the Doritos in a separate bag to prevent them from getting soggy.
