- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Step 2: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Step 3: Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
- Step 4: Stir in the orzo pasta and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Step 5: Pour in the vegetable or chicken broth and heavy cream, then bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Step 6: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, season with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs if desired.
- Step 7: Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Step 8: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
This dish can be made vegan by substituting heavy cream with coconut cream and using nutritional yeast instead of Parmesan. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
