- Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
- Step 3: Place the bread cubes in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and pour the egg mixture over the bread, pressing down to soak.
- Step 4: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Step 5: In a separate bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, melted unsalted butter, and optional nuts until crumbly.
- Step 6: Sprinkle the streusel topping over the soaked bread mixture.
- Step 7: Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Step 8: Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
